NaNoWriMo 2014(Signal, Mirror and Merge) Prologue Prologue
It was a sunny, crisp morning. Colby waved away the steam from his eyes and grabbed a towel. It had become a recurrence; all this prep. It wasn't as fresh as the morning breeze outside. This felt stagnant and stale. He bundled himself up in the plushy cape and proceeded to the sink. The bathroom’s temperature plummeted and the air coming through the open window was cool on his bare shoulders.
In front of the bathroom sink he brushed his teeth then stooped low in front of the mirror to brush his hair. He ran the sturdy plastic comb through his short black hair that abruptly ended a centimeter above his eyebrows. It swished slightly to his right above his face and short and managed in the back. His whole appearance was much like his hair. Everything was controlled.
Once he had finished up in the washroom he decided to hit the books. Dawning his work uniform-a brown polo shirt and black dress pants- he sat very rigidly at his desk scanning the words on the page.
